Juan Castano
I am originally from Pereira, a small city in the Colombian coffee region. I moved to Louisiana, where I completed my bachelor’s degree at McNeese State University. My passion for innovative, sustainable, and resilient buildings made me want to pursue a master’s degree at UT. Here, I will be part of the change the structural engineering industry needs to create better, and more sustainable structures. I am currently studying the behavior of bent to column joints subjected to extreme loading. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, hiking, and playing tennis. Also, I am on the quest of finding the best pizza place in the US.
