Oguzhan Bayrak received the Chester Paul Siess Award for Excellence in Structural Research for the paper he coauthored with Sungjin Bae, a former PhD student. The paper is titled "Examination of Stress Block Parameters for High-Strenth Concrete in the Context of ACI 318 Code". This award is given to the author or authors of a peer-reviewed paper published by the Institute that describes a notable achievement in experimental or analytical research that advances the theory or practice of structural engineering and, most importantly, recommends how the research can be applied to design. The award was presented at the 2015 ACI Awards Program held in Kansas City, MO on April 12, 2015.
